Moyer Masterful at I-55

Moyer Breaks Through at I-55 for Summer Nationals Victory

 

PEVELY, Mo. – July 2, 2011 – Billy Moyer finally added his name to the list of winners during the DIRTcar Summer Nationals Hell Tour after winning Saturday night at I-55 Raceway.

Moyer moved past current DIRTcar Summer Nationals Point Leader Shannon Babb of Moweaqua, Ill. on lap 14 and would lead the remaining 26 circuits to claim his first win on the 2011 tour worth a hefty $10,000. Former ‘Hell Tour’ champion Dennis Erb Jr. would finish second, his best finish on the tour, after starting on the pole and leading briefly at the start. Waterville, Ohio driver Matt Miller would finish third just ahead of Babb who faded to fourth at the end of the 40-lap main event. Welcome, N.C., driver Austin Dillon would finish fifth in his first visit to the Missouri track.

Babb, once again extended his points lead after his fourth place run at Pevely. Second in points, Lawrenceburg, Ind., driver Scott James finished 12th, a spot behind defending ‘Hell Tour’ champ Jason Feger.
