Track History

Farmer City Raceway, a storied gem in the heart of Illinois, boasts a rich tapestry of dirt track racing history that stretches back to its first race in 1938. Over the decades, it has witnessed the rise of legends and the fierce competition of stock car racing, carving out a legacy in the mud and the hearts of fans. Despite a pause during World War II from 1942 to 1945, racing resumed with vigor in 1946, continuing a now 49-year tradition of stock car racing that thrives to this day. Highlight moments from recent years include victories by notable drivers such as Billy Moyer, a force to be reckoned with in 2006, 2008, 2010, and 2013, and Brandon Sheppard, who claimed the track in 2015, 2017, and 2019, showcasing the evolving talent and unyielding spirit of competition. Other memorable wins include those by Bobby Pierce, Mike Spatola, Brian Shirley, Josh Richards, Scott Bloomquist, Shannon Babb, Jimmy Mars, and Shane Clanton, each adding their mark to the raceway's distinguished history. Farmer City Raceway remains a living monument to the thrill of racing, where the echoes of past victories inspire new generations of racers and fans alike.
