Veloz Jr. Races to LaSalle Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals Win
LaSalle, Ill. — July 4, 2012 — Milo Veloz Jr. of Colona, Ill., earned his first career DIRTcar Summit Modified Nationals victory Wednesday night at LaSalle (Ill.) Speedway picking up $1,000 for his efforts.
Veloz Jr. worked past Jim Farris of Odell, Ill., on lap 11 of the 25-lap main event and cruised the remaining distance for the victory. Farris finished second ahead of Nathan Balenseifen of Sheffield, Ill. Donovan Lodge of Moline, Ill., and Steven Brooks of New Lenox, Ill., rounded out the top five.
Defending DIRTcar Summit Modified Nationals Champion Mike Harrison of Highland, Ill., currently holds a 16 point advantage over Gabe Menser of Ashmore, Ill., in the standings with nine events remaining.
