FARMER CITY, Ill. – July 8, 2011 – Chad Kinder wasn’t to be denied on the DIRTcar Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals tour Friday night at Farmer City Raceway.
Kinder of Newton, Ill., worked his way past two former DIRTcar National Champions in Mike Harrison of Highland, Ill., and Jeff Leka of Buffalo, Ill., on his way to the 30-lap main event win worth a cool $1,000. Harrison, who has been the dominant driver on tour, settled for second ahead of Pontiac, Ill., driver Jay Ledford. Leka finished fourth while Justin Delong of Bloomington, Ill., rounded out the top five.
Heat race victories went to Leka, Kinder, Mckay Wenger of Fairbury, Ill, and Harrison. Driver Wes O’Dell of Springfield bested Rory Overmyer of Champaign, Ill., to capture the Last Chance Showdown. Mike Harrison extends his lead in the Summit Racing Equipment Modified National points to 119 markers over Mckay Wenger of Fairbury, Ill., with Jeff Curl of Forrest, Ill., 153 points behind.
The Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals return to action Saturday, July 9, at Clarksville (Tenn.) Speedway.
