Mike Harrison Take 2018 Tour Win 5 at Quincy Raceways

  

QUINCY,IL— Two nights after his win at Farmer City Speedway(IL), Mike Harrison picked up his 5th Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals win of 2018 at Quincy Raceways (IL). The win aided Harrison in stretching the point race between Harrison and Mike McKinney going into the last full week of competition for the 2018 edition of the tour. Harrison now sets 1 win behind McKinney with 8 races remaining.

 

Highland, IL’s Harrison passed tour rival Mike McKinney and David Wietholder early in the 25 laps event to collect the $1,500 pay day. In the closing laps Harrison would hold off a late race charge by Rick Stevenson to gain the win at the 1/4 mile Western Illinois oval. Stevenson would go on to finish in the 2nd position.

 

Series win leader Mike McKinney would go on to finish in the 3rd position after winning his heat over Harrison earlier in the evening’s event. Phil Dixon finished in the 4th spot with Kevin Blackburn rounding out the top 5.
