Mike Harrison Returns to Victory Lane at Macon Speedway

MACON, IL— Highland, IL driver Mike Harrison returned to Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals victory lane at Macon Speedway during round 3 of Independence Week presented by FK Rod Ends. Harrison scored his 3rd career victory with the 2018 tour by repeating his Macon win from 2017.

“ I was doubting this starting 12th but you just have to be patient and keep your knows clean here,” remarked Harrison following the 25 lap feature event.

Harrison’s marched to the lead was marked by an incident between race leaders Kenny Wallace of Imperial, MO and Ray Bollinger.

“ I don’t know what happened with Ray and Kenny up in front. I passed Kenny following that yellow and they put him back to 2nd. I saw them spinning at that start and not sure how it happened. We really needed this one. It’s been a rough couple of weeks.”

Harrison utilized that high side of the track as apposed to the more treacherous low side of the track being used by many.

You have to have patience up there. The way this place is the top can kill you. I was picking the right times to make the moves and it paid off.”

Following Harrison to the checkered was Kenny Wallace in the 2nd and Crosby, TX driver Phil Dixon in 3rd. David Shain picked up the 4th spot with Rusty Griffaw rounding out the top 5.

Feature Finish: Mike Harrison, Kenny Wallace, Phil Dixon, David Shain, Rusty Griffaw, Kyle Hammer, Danny Smith, Tommy Sheppard Jr., Nick Neville, Steven Brooks, Jared Thomas, Curt Rhodes, Zeb Moake, Nick Clubb, Donovan Lodge, Ray Bollinger, Brian Lynn, Levi Kissinger, Tim Hamburg, Jeffrey Ledford, Dustin Golden, Cole Hussong
