Dehm Outdistances Field for Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals
Fairbury, Ill. — June 23, 2012 — Lance Dehm of Chatsworth, Ill., bested 31 DIRTcar UMP Modifieds in the 30-lap, $1,200-to-win main event Saturday night at Fairbury American Legion Speedway.
Dehm, who was runner-up in last year’s rescheduled event, started second and got the jump polesitter Dave Porth of Gardner, Ill., and held off a charging Gary Cook Jr., of Deer Creek, Ill., en route to the win. Cook Jr. settled for second after battling from his tenth-place starting spot. Fellow Illinois driver T.D. Burger followed Cook Jr. through the field working his way from eleventh to third in the final rundown. Indian duo Jake Ruefer of Roanoke and John Demoss of Bloomington rounded out the top five.

The DIRTcar Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals returns to action Sunday night at I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, Mich., where Jacob Poel of Sprint Lake, Mich., drove to the race win in 2011.
