Brian Shaw Win Independence Day Thriller at Fayette County Speedway
BROWNSTOWN,IL— Brian Shaw of Robinson, IL took home the Independence Day victory at Fayette County Speedway for the Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals after holding off charges from a variety of contenders throughout the 25 lap event. The event marked Shaw’s first tour victory of 2018.
The battle for the lead was heated throughout the race with Marty Lindeman of Clay City, IL and Mike Harrison making it three wide on several occasions. Harrison would pull of the track unexpectedly while running the the 3rd position ending his night early.
Linderman would add late race pressure to Shaw but would settle for finishing in the 2nd position. Robbie Eilers of Highland, IL would hold off the hard chagrinning Ray Bollinger for the 3rd position. Bollinger would finishing in 4th with Imperial, MO driver Kenny Wallace finishing the evening in the 5th spot.
