Ray Bollinger Survives Challenges to Win at Highland Speedway

 

Highland, IL — July 7, 2018 — Ray Bollinger of Kewanee, IL survived challenges from a host of contenders to take home his second win of the 2018 Summit Modified Nationals on Friday at Highland Speedway (IL). The event saw a host of battles for the lead, including a charge from four-time 2018 winner Mike Harrison from the 19th position.

 

 

Bollinger also overcame an early challenge from the 3 car of Highland, IL native Ryan Ellers who temporarily took the lead from Bollinger before being passed back by Bollinger using the top side of the racing surface. Ellers fell out of the race following the battle for the lead.

 

Harrison found himself starting the 19th position after a rough start to the evening before a charge to the front lead to a last lap challenge for the win at his home track.

 

Following Harrison was Brian Bielong of Summerfield, IL who challenged the leaders early in the event before settling in the 3rd position following Harrison’s amazing run. Robbie Ellers finished in the 4th position following by Chris Smith cementing the strong run by Highland, IL drivers that made up 3 of the top 5 positions.
