CANTON, IL — June 25, 2018 — Ray Bollinger of Kewanee, IL took home his 1st Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals event win of the 2018 season. Bollinger grabbed the early lead from the outside front row and was able to hold off charges by Imperial, MO driver Kenny Wallace.

“ It was a much needed win after the bad luck we’ve had. I consider this place my home track and everyone puts a lot of hard work into it,” commented Bollinger.

The pole starting Wallace made several charges at the 77 car of Bollinger. Wallace was able to  pull up under Bollinger on the inside during long runs.

“ The cautions came out at the right time as I got into lap traffic. They couldn’t have come at a better time because I could hear him back behind me a few times. He seemed to have a  I know with two to go he was right up behind me so I was glad to see that checkered flag wave,” said Bollinger.

Wallace had not complaints about his 2nd place finish.

“ He is really good here, gotta give him a lot of credit. I was really happy with my car, it did what I wanted it to. If there is one thing I could have done to win it would have been to have longer runs. He was fading and I was better in the long runs,” commented Wallace following his  strong run.

Mark Anderson finished in the 3rd position ahead of Josh Allen and Brandon Roberts who rounded off the top 5.
